Gather some four x fours , four x 6, or 2 x 4 pieces of wood up to 2 feet in length. Sand the edges, then spray paint them the color of buildings. Use a marker or pen and have the kids help you add windows or other decorations. When done, use these props through out the theme in your block area or take them outside and have the kids create a pretend city in the sandbox or elsewhere on the playground. Ad matchbox cars or Legos with Lego people, and these props will keep them entertained for days.
