Get a medium sized cardboard box or two, and add a variety of sensory items. (Sandpaper, gummy worms, bolts, feathers, etc.) Seal it shut, and use a box cutter to cut a small whole in the side for children to put their hand through. Then tape a piece of cloth over the whole to completely conceal its contents. Set the box out during centers time, and have the kids feel around inside to see if they can guess its contents. Later on in group, make a chart listing what the kids thought they felt inside. Then open the box up and show them the contents one by one while putting a check next to the items they correctly felt.
