Gather an assortment of larger, round shaped rocks. (The size of a soup bowl works good. River Rocks work great for this project.) Set out a variety of decorating materials such as paints, googly eyes, glitter, sequins, glue, and Pipe cleaners. Have the children create their pet rocks using the materials. For older children, you might want to supply them with acrylic paint to create a lasting finish to their rock. Just be sure to adequately protect their clothing.
