Set an assortment of toy animals out in your block area, along with play people . Have the kids use the blocks to build cages for the animals and walkways for the people just like a real zoo. Also provide the kids with safety scissors, markers, paper and tape and help them create little signs for the animal cages to work on emergent literacy.
