From the onset of this theme, send the children out as stamp collectors. Encourage them to clip the stamps from any letter received at home and bring them in to class. Start a bulletin board at the kids eye level for your classroom stamp collection and post all the stamps the kids bring in onto the board. You can make a little frame for each one out of construction paper, or otherwise fancy it up. Use this through out your theme as a counting exercise. (Counting how many stamps they have collected each day in group) , a sorting exercise (determining how many of each kind there are) or as a general resource for teaching the kids.
