Bring in one or two phone books, and as many real telephones as you can round up. Remove the chords from the phones, and set the items out at a classroom table. Work with the kids to help them look up numbers of their favorite businesses (Toys R Us, McDonalds, etc.) using the yellow pages. Once they've found it, have them practice dialing the numbers on the phones.
