War of Cards

The classic card game of war is a fun way to help teach kids a variety of number concepts. Take your deck of cards and remove all the Jacks, Queens, Kings, and Aces, leaving only the numbered cards. Shuffle them, and pair children off, giving each child an equal stack of cards. Have them flip

the top card off their stack, slam it down on the table, and see who has the highest card. Whoever has the highest card wins both cards, putting them at the
bottom of their stack. The first one to get all their
opponents cards, or whoever ends up with the most wins the game.
